We use film photography to create imagery that is built to last, for people to instantly connect with.

35mm photography has stood the test of time. An unreproducible aesthetic that holds our attention just that little longer. This medium is the purest form of photography.

Camcorder/Sony Handycam:

In keeping with analogue time capturing, camcorders are that very sweet spot of the end of analogue and rise of digital. The glitches and fast-forwards of the tape make for nostalgia heaven. Another hit of deep connection.

Why 35mm film?

It is the rawest form, the grain aesthetic, and the analogue components. Plus the quality stills stands up to today's standards. The whole process is a miracle. Light is the source of all capabilities, but also the risk. Film photography you have to consider all the parameters you have and take the time to get the right shot.

One can't simply snap away, you have to think about what your end result exposure will be. This is true craftsmanship.

Our offer
Our philosophy

The main reason to shoot in this medium? Time slows down, it takes you back to a time when life moved slower. We take the time to craft imagery so that clients can promote themselves with a deeper connection with their own customers. It's how the images are made, they're built to last.

The process

Film photography has the most facinating and purest processes of photography. Documentation in its rawest form.

Your project:

- We start a conversation with you to gauge what it is you are looking for

- An onboarding process to get the project started

- Arrange the necessary requirements

- We come along to the shoot bringing creativity and value

How we shoot:

- Loading the camera with a fresh roll (sometimes expired is equally interesting)
- Finish the roll of 24 or 36 shots/exposures

- Rewinding the roll back into the canister - making sure that you don't burn the film by opening the back door too early

- Delivering the canister to a local developer (we recommend City Film in Christchurch, New Zealand)

- The anticipation of what the results will be

- Scans emailed to you for review

- Pick up the negatives
