The Toyota FJ40 has an iconic design and a strong history, a classic car hero. There's this underlying respect for the trusty truck and with it's characteristics and aesthetics the idea to turn in into a one off design illustration was created.
The creative heading was to have a one-off design that wasn't a cliche to a barbershop. So we looked into clothing merchandise that didn't necessarily have the businesses core services, more design/illustration fun.

Tom's Chopshop Merch - First Edition
A brilliant illustration idea for the first round of merchandise arose whilst getting a haircut and that was enough to get the project underway.
The idea was this rusty, sweaty, action-filled, and early-mid 20th century theme to coincide with the long heritage of the barbershop profession. The tow truck was the star of the show and the barbershop pole gave it that final touch.
